What is perf?

perf empowers people with professional feedback and insights from their work experience to help them turn that into future opportunities. 

We're just getting started with the tools to help people gather feedback from past colleagues, learn from it, share it (should they choose to), and leverage the biggest asset they have - past performance - to drive future opportunities. Let your past experience and results - validated by your network - speak to your impact and your potential. 

What is the Network Engagement and Trust Score™ (NETS™)?

The Net Engagement and Trust Score™  - or your NETS™ for short - is the first promoter score for professionals. It measures how strongly past and current colleagues would recommend working with you. 

We ask verified former colleagues to rate how likely they are to recommend working with you on a scale of 0 to 10. 

We then calculate your score based on subtracting detractors from promoters. 

When perf calculates your NETS™, only you will be able to access your score, unless you choose to share it. Always.

This is core of our mission - we believe that you - should own this information across the companies that you work for. Your performance information and insights are part of your career journey - from peer feedback to performance reviews and results achieved - and we want to empower you to harness your past impact for future growth. 

 

I received an email to provide feedback on a former colleague. How did you get my contact information?

Your current or former colleague signed up to perf to get their Network Engagement and Trust Score™ and provided us with their LinkedIn contacts. You are connected on LinkedIn, and we pulled your contact details accordingly. 

What happens after I sign up to the waitlist?

Once you are on the waitlist, you'll receive a notification when we're ready to survey your past and current colleagues to get your score. 

  • Live Consultation - we'll walk you through gathering your LinkedIn contacts, the survey format, and address any questions or concerns live. 
  • Validate Connections - we'll validate connections and pull together a list of contacts to survey along with their contact information. 
  • Ship the Survey - we'll send the survey to validated connections, emphasizing that the feedback and insights are 100% anonymous.
  • Review Results - we typically keep the survey open for ~2 weeks. Once we close the survey, we will review and share results. 
  • Live Results Review - we'll walk through results along with options to share via social, share via the network, craft a "living" resume (beta), or book a coaching consultation. 

Once you get your NETS™, it's up to you how you want to action it! 

 

How can I use my NETS™?

Your NETS™ should provide you with powerful feedback and insight into how strongly your network would recommend working with you. 

Once we receive your survey results, we'll share:

  • Your NETS™
  • Scoring on the four core pillars of success 
    • Adaptability 
    • Problem Solving 
    • Collaboration 
    • Commitment to Excellence
  • Qualitative feedback

You'll receive this feedback in a report and determine if you would like to share your results or book a consultation with our team to discuss next steps. 

How do you gather feedback for the Network Engagement and Trust Score™?

When you signup to get your NETS™ and provide your LinkedIn contacts, we analyze your network to confirm colleagues you worked with and are currently connected to. 

Only colleagues that we confirm overlapped with you directly during your time at a company will be surveyed. All colleagues that we identify will be surveyed, so you do not have the ability to determine who to send your survey to. This maintains the integrity of the survey process and ensures a full representation of past perspective to get insights that drive your NETS™. 

All feedback for your NETS™ is gathered anonymously through BlockSurvey. We gather two things in the survey - confirmation for the company that the reviewer worked at and their honest feedback on working with you. We use BlockSurvey since it's the best way to ensure full privacy - no identifying data is collected on the user. 

Gathering anonymous feedback is core to our mission. We want to empower all employees to own and grow from past performance. Anonymity is foundational to honest, transparent feedback. 

How do you make sure the score can't be "gamed"?

Once you commit to getting your score, we get to work. There are a few ways we ensure consistency and standards for your NETS™

-We validate that surveys are only sent to people that we confirm you are currently connected with on LinkedIn and overlapped with your time at a specific company. 

-We limit responses through BlockSurvey for unique links only available to the receiver of the survey and only 1 response per IP. 

-We assess any anomalies in the data that we receive. If we identify an issue or extreme outlier, we will work with you directly to identify a path to ensure a fair and consistent score. 

Who has access to my NETS™?

Your score is yours an only visible to you, unless you choose to share it. Forever. 

This is the mission of perf. We want to empower employees with their past performance and a validated assessment from peers across companies. This assessment is 100% your own so you can gather open feedback, understand perspective from your network, and leverage your past performance for future success. 

We will continue to find creative ways to help our network get feedback from those they have worked with. We also are currently working with companies that are interested in tapping into the perf network and offer a valuable service to their teams.

Your feedback, insights, and score will always be yours to own and share as you wish. That's just foundational to who we are. 

 

What if I get a bad score?

Your score is completely private to you, so no one but you will know the results.  

A poor NETS™ score can sting. That said, you now have information and can do something with it. You're in the drivers seat! 

We are working on a handful of ways to support those looking to improve their scores. We're all on a growth journey, and the first step in growing is identifying the problem and then taking steps to improve.

What if I get a great score and want to share it?

You've just gotten a fantastic NETS™ and want to proudly display it! 

There are a few ways to share.

We have a small but mighty team working to get all employees access to past performance feedback to drive future success. 

Our growing waiting list is a sign that this feedback is valuable, and we are working diligently to expand access to the perf network and provide a score to all who are interested.
